Parents' Weekend!

I forgot this was Parents' Weekend! This is the weekend where Drake students' parents come to visit and do different activities together. It was weird to get up at 8:30 am and see students actually walking around at that time on a Saturday morning. People were coming back from breakfast! Maybe more people would be up that early on the weekend if Hubbell normally opened that early, instead of 10 am. Anyway, having parents over is nice. Everyone is on their best behavior, and Drake really cleans the campus up nicely. I believe there is a football game today too. I feel a little out of the loop because I haven't been keeping up with the events that are happening. Also, this event is especially helpful for the freshman that are homesick because they can see their parents for a weekend that isn't home to help them feel more at ease. My parents have never come up for parents' weekend, but they've come over other random weekends, so I'm not really sure what events they have going on. I think they had a panel in Olmsted this morning, and then of course there is the football game too. I'm sure there's more. Drake is usually pretty good at having a whole list of things for guests to do.

My phone is still wet. I was hopeful this morning because the Motorola screen was flashing, but then I turned it on the other side without noticing and it doesn't work anymore again. I'm hoping it has a healthy drying period, so I can have my phone back. Well I'm off to the mall to hit the Hobby Lobby sale, and then I'll try and get myself a loaner phone until my phone dries out. I don't think this will really work, but I guess I can hope! Take care everyone.
