It's been yet another busy week and tonight I went into panic mode when I realized I have a midterm on Monday for a class that I haven't even opened the book for! Yikes! The horrible part about the whole thing is that I also have a book to read, a project due, chapter worksheet, and other random things that I need to do ALL by Monday. Homecoming week festivities along with the coming of Fall Break isn't very nice together because that means most professors are trying to get a lot done before we have our mini-break.
Obviously, since I didn't even realize I had a midterm on Monday I've been enjoying some of the Homecoming Activities. On Monday night I went to go see the Comedian, Dan Ahboot. Then, yesterday I went to the Keith Anderson concert at the Knapp Center and that was amazing! Although, I definitely do not appreciate the really tall guys taking front row and thinking their raising arms during the entire show was appropriate when everyone was behind them. Talk about them thinking it was a personal show.
This weekend I'm going to the Homecoming game, even though I should probably stay in and do homework, but I figure its my Senior year and its the least I can do for my own memories :) I also have APO Chapter Retreat right after at the corn maze, so I'm looking forward to that. Sunday, will be loads of fun with KDPi initiation and then APO committee meetings. Considering I have to prepare for a class presentation for my Science Methods course, do blackboard postings, read a couple of other books, and so much more I don't know exactly when I'm going to get this all done.
I still need to go get my phone switched to my older blue phone.
I was so busy today that I didn't get one proper meal until about 9:30pm and even that wasn't really the greatest. It's nice being busy, but I like food and my sleep.
News on TQP: I went from having one mentor that was out of my field, to two mentors, and then a mentor that decided to drop me, so I'm back to one that is in my field. I'm REALLY excited to work with her because I can come to her class anytime I want to observe, I get to meet the principal, tour the school and get to be part of the community. I can't wait to get started.
We had the SOE BBQ today where we get to meet Des Moines Public Schools' administrators and principals, and I met one pair that was really excited to meet with me again, so that was really cool. These events makes me really happy to be student teaching and soon enough teaching in my own classroom. It's kind of a funny feeling I have after I talk to these people: they make me feel confident and that I'm totally in the right field of study. I love this feeling.
I have SO many pictures, but no time to upload, so my goal for this weekend is to find that time and get them uploaded and get everything else done, too.
Tomorrow, I'm going to request to be put back into Group C because my knees and ankles aren't strong enough for Group B. Considering I'm taking this ROTC class for fun, it's totally not worth my ability to walk.
With that, more to come tomorrow after I freak out a little bit more. I need sleep! I'll be up in less than 6 hours! Until later, give your friends rides, make time to hang out, and always enjoy the festivities. Take care everyone.
