Fall break starts tomorrow for me! I do have my PT class in the morning, so my goal is to get to bed early tonight so I don't have to take a nap after class and I can drive home right away (after I shower of course).
Update on PT-because there is always an update.
I improved my score by 95 points on the PT test, going from 175 to 270. 300 is the highest score possible. At Wednesday's class I was recognized three times for this accomplishment. I was the most improved female, the highest scoring female, and then top 4 females in the class. I'm definitely not even close to being the fastest, but all that made me feel awesome. The only problem now is that I ran so hard at my PT test I think I have runner's knee now, so it's almost impossible for me to walk up and down stairs, or just walk in general. Yesterday I tried to take good care of myself after class by icing, then ibuprofen, and then heating my knee at night so its doing much better today. I know that after class tomorrow, I'll be crippled again.
Our groups were reassigned, so now we have four groups and I'm in group three. Jason is our group leader, which is kind of awkward because he's been a friend since freshman year of college, but the kind of friend that I only hang out with because he's really good friends with my best friend, Cammeo. He's always been the real quiet type, and now he's my group leader and his encouragement statements are something like, "YOU CAN'T SMOKE ME!" Sounds like a challenge, but the truth is that we really can't smoke him. Crazy, yes. It should be a good time as long as I can keep my knees and ankles healthy.
I'm am SO excited to be going home. I've noticed that every year at this time I just need to go home and be with my family even if its for a short time. There is something about going home that resets my stress level and calms me down quite a bit. My plans for this weekend are to go to Garba tomorrow, which is a religious event where we dance-to put it simply. Then, hopefully I'll go to Minnesota for Mall of America. I hope my daddy treats me, but I kind of doubt that'll happen :P.
My roommate already left for Fall break...how lucky!
Drake is really great with involving their students with the presidential campaign, but they scheduled the next event horribly. Obama is supposed to come to Drake tomorrow at 10 am to make a foreign policy address on the Iraq War. Too bad its Fall break and many people will be going home or on a mini vacation. I'm sure there'll still be a great turn out since the Des Moines public is usually invited to our events as well, but this just marks another presidential campaign speech that I will not be attending.
Right now, I'm going to pack for home! YaY! Then dinner with Josh, class, and sleep! whoohoo. What a night!
Until later, wear a sweater, help someone carry something, and make time for crafts. Bye!
