Creative Difficulties

I'm up early for a Tuesday because I have a Word Center due tomorrow morning for my Primary Literature class. I think this has been one of my most difficult project assignments yet because we have to focus on kindergarten through second grade and maybe, but very seldom third grade. I tried to take the easy way out (for me) and go for the third grade lessson, but last time she specifically said we have to focus on K-2. This is difficult for me because my concentration is on the older students and also because literature and word study is not my cup of tea. Give me math and I'll think of a fun way to do it, but literature-no way. I can't seem to think of reasons why some of these concepts are important. I mean, I know they are important for their speech development, and reading development, but I don't understand why they have to take the approach they do to teach these elements. So far on my project I've decided to work on onsets and rimes, which are the beginnings and endings of words, such as in dog, /d/ is the onset and /og/ is the rime. There are SO many onsets and rimes that I didn't know where to start so I arbitrarily picked three to focus on.

My Philosophy of Education is also kind of lacking. I was looking at my horoscope and for the last couple of days, my creativity level was at 1%! I was shocked! I'm known for my arts and crafts, especially if you see my room, and I can't think of anything to do. Don't worry either-I saw my horoscope after I couldn't be creative because I was trying to figure out what to do.

Yesterday I went to an orientation at the Forest Ave. library. I'll be tutoring there! Its all volunteering, but I hope that if I show my face enough that maybe I can work there part time in the future-like the Spring!

Nothing too exciting just yet because of all the projects I have to do. Its kind of cold today. Yesterday the temperature of the weather was in the high 80's, and today its dropped about 20 degrees.

Tonight in my PE and Health class we have a presentation on Self-Esteem and we're putting on a skit (that we haven't rehearsed or seen once!) and I'm playing the little girl.

Next entry will be pictures I haven't uploaded to my computer yet..at least I hope!

Until later everyone, help your friends out in the time of need, think things through before you say them, and always save room for dessert! YUM!
