I didn't get a job for the summer and it's a good thing too! I'm going to Denver pretty soon to see Gregory! I'm not sure how long I'll stay there, but it'll be great :)
My family and I went to Spring Green, Wisconsin and Wisconsin Dells for the long weekend. In Spring Green we went to see The House on the Rock. This was quite an interesting museum, if I do say so myself. It's a collection of collections by Alex Jordan. We only went on one of three tours, but that alone took us two hours to get through. We saw a lot of guns, dolls, cars, model ships, stuffed animals, the world's biggest sea creature (only a figment of Alex's imagination made into a huge three-dimensional object), and the world's largest carousal that didn't have one horse on it! There was much more, but that's all I remember. We didn't take any pictures because my camera's batteries died.
Tomorrow I'm going to hang out with my friend Nikki (I hope!) and then she's leaving for India on Thursday, which is also my birthday. I don't have anything planned, but I'll assume it'll be just fine :)
Doing financial aid for Drake is one of the things that I hate the most. Since I got the scholarship for tuition and books they took away from my Drake Grant, which means that I'll have to take out loans anyway to help pay for housing and board. They say because every family has the EFC, we have to contribute something and I can't have everything paid for. Not only that, but I no longer get Federal Work Study money. I'm not sure if this means that I'm no longer eligible to have work study. If this is the case then I can't work at the Adult Literacy Center anymore and I'm going to be VERY upset because I absolutely love my job at Drake. The people that come into the center are great, my hours are fabulous, and my supervisor is fantastic. I couldn't ask for a better atmosphere to work in. This scholarship seems to make things harder, rather than simpler for me. I hope it all works out in the end with two very important things accomplished: I pay less as possible and I get to keep my job at Drake Adult Literacy Center!
Countdown till my 21st birthday...3 days!
Hoping to see Pirates of the Caribbean soon too!
Until later, have a wonderful night :)
