Blogger has been crazy and I haven't been able to post lately, so hopefully this time it will post.
This weekend was Halloween weekend. Now that I'm in the school system and I encounter so many people that don't believe in celebrating halloween I don't even know if I'm allowed to say the word "halloween" in school without offending somebody. Most of my students participate in "beggars night"which is what I called "trick o treating". In Des Moines, the only way you get candy is by doing a trick or saying a joke! At home, we just went door to door and said "trick -o-treat!" Also, they can only go around for 2 hours! Granted that's probably the time that we went out for total, with tv and dinner breaks, but we used to start right after school and the city rules said we had to be done by 9 pm. What a change!
Anyway, Cammeo, Karen, Greg and I went to Komodo Club because they were having a costume party. I dressed up as a witch. Found a dress at Goodwill and cut it up. I found a matching hat at Hy-Vee and there you go! A Witch! I also made my eye make-up exaggerated and my lips black. I was scary looking. Cammeo was a Greek Goddress in ALL gold. She found a golden bed skirt at Goodwill and we wrapped her in that, cut some fabric out, she made a gold-leafy crown and tie up sandals from flip-flops and ribbons. Karen was a powder-puff football player..very cute. Greg was Static Cling! He pinned socks on his shirt...a very good choice.
Tonight I'm going to the Best Buy Halloween Party. There should be a casino with fake money, movies, video games, food, and prizes!! I'm excited.
