I think I was right with my hope that week one was just a scare. I do have homework, but not as much as I did on week one. Honestly, I never really finished but I did what was collected so I'm free. Last night I stayed up a little bit longer to finish reading some things that I never read to begin with and I think with one class I will never read those few chapters, but I will try to keep up with my other chapters. My two math courses with Dr. Fagan encourages us to bring our laptops to class, but for some reason we can't get onto the Internet. We get the "connected" when we do by chance find the Drake signal, but then the Internet doesn't so I have to go to Carnegie Help Desk and get that figured out on my laptop. Seems as though all my professors know my name already (except for the one that I haven't met yet) and that makes me really happy. For some reason I'm always more at ease and willing to contribute to classroom discussion if my teacher knows my name. Now I just have to work on getting them to spell it right. Oh well, one step at a time, rt?
Since it snowed last Saturday I haven't been able to go anywhere because my car was buried and I didn't have a shovel to dig it out, and it kept snowing everyday so I was afraid I'd be stuck on campus until it all eventually melted away, but today my roommate said it was really nice outside so I decided to go visit my car and see how it was doing. I had a good 6 inches of snow covering my car and then snow plowed behind my car so I wouldn't be able to back it out of its spot. My roommate brought her handy-dandy shovel and helped me dig my car out. I can actually see my car now, so that's exciting. Now I can go get those microwaveable bowls finally and have my maple and brown sugar oatmeal..YUMM!
Not too much on the home front except I almost had to take Greg to the ER again. I swear that kid is falling apart. He sucked it up and decided not to go, but I think he'll end up there today or tomorrow. I think he might have a fractured bone in his foot.
OOOH, exciting news that made me laugh for like 15 minutes, but then again I laugh at most anything, but I came back from my math classes today to discover some doors leaning to the wall across my room, walk into my room not really thinking anything of it and discovering my closet doors were gone!! All our stuff that was on the doors was on our futon and everything in our closet was exposed. It was quite a sight. So, still having my coat and backpack on, I went to investigate if those doors were ours but in the process one of the guys that had removed my doors came and took one away and then a second guy came and I apologized for not removing our belongings from the door (even though I never got the email) and he said, "I'm sorry I have to take your doors away"...and then he made a comment about our colorful purses. The whole situation made me laugh and taught me a lesson...always keep your room tidy. You never know when someone is going to walk in (and take your doors)!!
Also, in the Times Delphic we found out that the removed carpeting from the hallways of the halls were going to remain removed until the end of the semester. This is quite unfortunate, especially with the snow because its gets kind of slippery and wet and wearing slippers out in the hall gets them all wet too. Also, when people walk in boots, the sound echos throughout the entire hall and rooms. I'm really sensitive to noise so I don't enjoy that much. Also, seems as though we're having some drainage issues. The drains don't drain so when you shower you end up having your feet creeping up your feet. I think it's kind of disgusting and I hope they fix it soon.
I thought Tuesday class was a funny day because I went to my Reading Methods course first and my professor said, reading picture books to all grade levels is an important thing to do and then she read us a picture book. Then I went to my Social Studies Methods class and she said, you should read picture books to all grade levels because...and then she read us a picture book. Finally, for my night class I went to my Math Methods and she said reading picture books to all grade levels is important and you can get math out of it...and she read us a picture book too! What a day. Lots of reading to me. I had fun. Good times. haha.
My class for Thursday night I cancelled so I shall be going out. I think this Friday will be Greg and me time, then Saturday is the UNI vs. Drake game, and then Sunday will be meetings! fun times. I got to get ready for work! catch you on the fly.
