LaLaLa
So all my plans for the new year didn't exactly work out as planned. It rained in Chicago, people were getting shot all over the place, and we heard the trains would be a mess so we never made it down for the New Year. Instead we stayed home and basically just waited. It was all still good though. The next day along with my parents, brother, and Greg, we went to downtown Chicago to drive around, walk along the lake shore and we also went up the Sears Tower since Greg had never been there before. My usual stop the Disney Store didn't happen, which is really sad because they have a HUGE sale! but that's okay, I'll live and I'm sure my bank account is happy about that. We then went out to eat at India House...good food, bad service. enough said. I have to watch my brother today so I'm just waiting until one of my parents get home so I can go out with one of my best friends from home, and Greg. We'll probably hit Woodfield Mall, bowling, food, we never really know until we're driving. Tomorrow I plan on taking Greg to the Shedd Aquarium. It's a beautiful place but it'll be my first time driving to Downtown Chicago, so I'm a little afraid of that. My other best friend Julie is supposed to be back sometime next week, so I can't wait. I haven't seen her since her birthday in July. We haven't even exchanged our Christmas gifts yet because she left for the Philippines to celebrate her parents' anniversary. We usually see each other before she leaves for her vacations but since Drake ended so late for winter break I missed her. She goes to school in IL so she's closer to home too...no reason for her to drive all the way to Iowa to see me. I hope next year we get our four weeks back. I don't know about you, but I rather come back to school a week early and get my four weeks off, rather than start a week late and only get 3 weeks for break. We all really need this break, otherwise I'm sure we'd die of exhaustion from homework, projects, studying, working, activities, etc. At least, I know I would. Although, at the same time, its always nice to go back to school and see your friends from college again. You end up missing them, and the freedom that you don't get at home if you still live with your parents. Slowly, high school friends diminish and college friends take over...but you'll always have your best friends. You just have to remember to keep in touch! We'll I'm out for now. Hope to have pictures for next time and my New Year's resolutions. keep it sweet.
