Crazy Day!

I've been disgustingly sick for the past few days. It all started Friday and progressively got worse. Yesterday, I thought I was going to pass out at school while teaching. I have to say that 6th graders are crazy. Some of them have sympathy for their teacher's sickness, while others say things like "you sound French!" because of my congestion. Many of them are pretty much involved with themselves so if it has anything to do with learning and avoiding that learning they're all for it. They would rather just sit there and pout rather than take that extra effort to understand what I'm saying as I'm sweating bullets in front of the class because my body can't seem to control its temperature. My teacher let me miss the PBS meeting and go home to sleep. I was afraid I wouldn't be well enough to go to school today, so I went to Walgreens to buy some Tylenol. I got the combo pack with the day and nighttime medicine. Well, the nighttime medicine took awhile to take effect but once it did, it hit me hard. I woke up this morning a minute before my alarm clock was set to go off, so I turned it off and went back to bed. BAD IDEA! I slept in for an entire hour longer than I should have. I had morning duty with the 6th and 7th graders where I had to be at school at 7:20am and I woke up at 7:04! Well, I was late...but only by five minutes. I threw my hair up in a messy bun, slapped some make-up on to look presentable, brushed my teeth, put on a random out and ran out the door. I hated it. I hate being late!!

My teacher was out today so I was in charge. We had a sub, but as a student teacher, I'm in charge. I'm still sick and my voice was disappearing with every class, and my fourth block I was exhausted! My body and voice couldn't handle it, and of course, my students during fourth block had to be the worst. The sub sent two of the students to the principal's office, and two others probably should have been sent too, but I feel horrible sending students to the principal's office. It was crazy. My students need a huge lesson on being respectful and responsible.

Well, I just took the nighttime medicine so sleep should come my way shortly, I hope.

Have a wonderful day.
