Today was one of the best days weather wise. I was outside in capris and a fleece jacket. So far, today I did some volunteer work at Cans for Kids, which is part of Kids Against Hunger-boy is there a story for that, but for later of course. Then, I went to Cammeo's house to do the "roommate dinner" we have every month, but this time it was more of a lunch with some games.
Roommate dinner began back during my sophomore year when I lived with Cammeo, Corie and Linda. We set aside a time every Sunday that no matter what we were doing or had to get done, we were going to stop at whatever time and eat together and then have a dance party. Well, since then, we have all gone our separate ways in living arrangements but we still get together for food and fun-mostly catch-up time once a month. It started as it being just a girl thing, but now we include our boys too...sometimes. We grilled chicken with vegetables, potato salad, pickles, jello, chips, dip, cupcakes...just tons of food. Then after we ate, we played bocce ball, bags, and jumped on the tampoline for quite awhile. MUCHO FUN. I love my girls. We popped in a movie while we prepped the food called Sydney White and in the very beginning it says, "the friends you make in college are the friends you'll have for life", so it would pretty amazing if that held true for the four of us.
In about 20 minutes, we are going leave to go to the Iowa Cubs game with Annelise and one of her friends. I've never been, so this should be a good time. The best part is that the weather is supposed to be amazing. Well, I have to change for the game, so until next time, enjoy the weather while it lasts. Take care.
