Snow Day from DMPS

The Des Moines Public Schools had a snow day today, which means that I didn't have to go student teach! I enjoyed my day off. I spent a lot of time with Greg, but I also got much accomplished. I did my laundry, filled out my W-4, made a quick run to Wal-Mart for vinegar for my science experiment with the students tomorrow, made some necessary phone calls and hopefully will be able to tidy my room and write a few more lesson plans tonight before bed time. I should have accomplished more, but I didn't.

Right now I'm suffering from an upset stomach. I was so hungry at dinner I ate A LOT, and I even left the place hungry, and now my stomach feels like its on fire. Not a good feeling.

Tomorrow, I really hope my students behave because my supervisor is coming to evaluate me for my first evaluation. And then, I believe next week is midterm evaluation. I feel like every evaluation should show some improvement, but he's coming back on Monday, and I don't know how much I'm supposed to improve on one day and a weekend. It was up to my teacher for him to come to observe me then.
Yesterday I was fingerprinted. I felt like a criminal, but everyone was getting fingerprinted so it was a mass meeting. Getting fingerprinted is part of getting certified for teaching during student teaching, along with many more tests and fees to come.

I want to say I'm looking foward to this weekend, but the fact is that I'm not too much. I have a lot going on and I would love a weekend where I didn't have to do anything.
Tomorrow after my observation, I have to leave school early to attend my TQP meeting from 4-6, which I won't lie, I didn't do my reading for. Then, its friday, and I have to babysit for a few hours. Saturday I have chapter retreat that I'm not totally excited about going to, followed by the Drake Men's Basketball Game that I'm totally excited to go to. Then, finally on Sunday is APO initiation for the Spring semester. I still have to request to become an associate. I have until Sunday to get this done. As for right now, I need to do some planning for Friday and Monday, and then shower, and then whatever life throws at me before bedtime.
