The Drake basketball game yesterday was a great upset. The game ended with the score of 71-70, Bradley, and the Drake crowd stood there in silence...in shock. No one moved. It was as if we were all in denial that the game was actually over and we had lost. I was hoping the refs would call something after the buzzer that gave Drake another chance to get a few baskets, but obviously that didn't happen. Then, slowly, we all walked out of the Knapp Center. As we were walking out, a man in a Drake shirt said, "Bradley deserved that win!" OMG. Really? Did he really say that? Wow--I'll keep my profanity to myself. Greg and I had will call tickets because of Greg's wonderful connection to the basketball team. (He used to room with one of the players, and he was also the boys basketball manager for a year). I said next time we will not take the seats. I think they were bad luck!
Anyway, today we had a sub in my classroom, which meant that I was in charge because I'm now full time student teaching. I have to say this was my best day yet! I loved it! It was wonderful. We did have early out, so science and writing time was skipped, but that being besides the fact, I loved being "the teacher". LOVED IT! I can't say it enough. We had teacher planning time after school...which is why the students get early out, and all I got done was grading! Ridiculous. That's okay though. I'll take what I can get. I think they should have early out everyday...I'd even settle for once a week.
Now, I'm getting a little sad that I'll have to leave my class because I'm just beginning to get to know them. Before I know it, I'll have to leave them and start at Callanan, which will be a whole new experience altogether.
Speaking of a new experience...I will get my placement for next August in APRIL!!!! How exciting is that! Yes, more on that later. Right now, its time to do some planning.
Have a wonderful night!
