Last Observation

Tomorrow is my last supervisor observation at my first placement. The funny thing is that I'm REALLY nervous. I wasn't too nervous for my first two, and since this is my last observation I feel the pressure to be awesome. I'm also crammed for time because we have some assembly to go to that cuts into my math time, which is the time that my supervisor is going to come see me. I hope it all goes well. Wish me luck, please!

They say that the student that gives you the toughest time is your favorite...and I have to agree. I always wanted to be that teacher that didn't have favorites, but I definitely do. I think I do a pretty awesome job keeping that information from my students and the staff. If they had a big brother, big sister program, and this kid was in it, I would love to be his big sister. He's just so interesting and you can feel that even though he has the toughest time listening to directions his heart is the sweetest thing. His hobbies are true passions and he really works hard to excel them. He is also figuring out that teachers are real people and we don't just live at school all the time. You should have seen his face when he found out his teacher had the same favorite band as him...it was priceless. He is quite the character and I would love to see where he ends up after a few years. I think the reason I enjoy his company in class is because he reminds me of my brother, and I do miss my little brother dearly while I'm away at Drake. Oh well.

My students realized that my time with them is coming to a close and they all clung to me for the rest of day pleading for me not to leave. I'm sure they do this with all their student teachers but it does have a heart warming affect, if I do say myself.

Off to do what I should have done while watching A Moment of Truth, then sleep! Have a goodnight!
