Traveling

I went to Des Moines on Tuesday for my TQP meeting and that went just fine. I got a chance to meet the others in my cohort, ask questions and get some free stuff. I signed up to get a free laptop! I know everyone is totally jealous. Also, I found out that I will probably be able to stay at my job at the Drake Adult Literacy Center because even though I have the scholarship I was eligible or Federal money beforehand. They're going to do some research and get back to me on that. Then, Corie, Cammeo and I went to Cabaret to celebrate my birthday. We karaoke-d to Pour Some Sugar on Me. It was a really good night. Next morning I had breakfast with Grant, my haircut-which I'm not totally happy with, and then lunch and a little shopping with my girls again before I headed back out to Chicago. I didn't get a chance to hang out with Erin b/c of the limited time, but I will be back in Des Moines at the end of June! There is way too much construction going on EVERYWHERE...and by everywhere meaning the exits that I always needed to take, so I ended up spending 45 minutes in detours both going to Drake and coming back home. The traffic was ridiculous because of the amount of trucks on the road, but I made it there and back almost safely. I had a few instances where trucks were tailgating me! (and I drive fairly speedy), side-swiped me, and cut me off. I'm thinking they thought they had enough space b/c I know they saw me. One time, I was surrounded by trucks, so I was a Sonal-sandwich, and the truck tried to get into the space I was occupying. Talk about a terrifying experience...especially b/c I am terrified driving next to trucks.

Now for the fantastic news! I'm going to Denver on Sunday! I finally get to see Greg and hopefully he'll have a speedy treatment and recovery :)
I'm a bit scared of flying b/c last time I did it I was nine and my family was with me so I had nothing to worry about. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do and where I'm supposed to go. I'll figure it out though...I always do! I can't wait to be in Denver to see Greg! YaY!

Time to bake some brownies! Hope for the best, everyone :)
