I went to Chicago for my birthday to be with my family. Unfortunately, I had to leave by yesterday, which only gave me about three days with my family. My dad says to me, "you should have come next week so you could have stayed the entire week". I said, "But I came for my birthday!", and my dad says, "Oh yeah". Thanks dad! Anyway, being home was great. My brother is getting older, wiser, and is still a spoiled brat-but I still love him. My sister is living at home with my mom now and that is interesting in itself. My mom is a clean freak. She cleans anytime she has time and likes everything to be tidy...well, at least the part that guests would be able to see, and my sister lives believing that people don't need to have a clean house all the time, which drives my mom nuts! Not going to lie, it drives me nuts, too. Granted I don't really live there anymore so my room is free reign for putting things in, but my sister's stuff is growing throughout the house and there seems to be this constant battle for space between my mom and my sister. My mom wants everything put away and my sister puts things where there is space. I think its probably a good thing I didn't come home for the summer because the condo would have been really cramped. Although, considering I don't have a summer job yet, I wish I stayed home to save some money.
Anyway, I had to come back to Des Moines because tonight I'm throwing Shelley a bachelorette party. I'm a little apprehensive because not many people are invited/coming and everyone is coming right after work, and I've made a cake that I don't know quite when to pull out to give to Shelley that I'm all sorts of confused and scared for what will happen. It's not really a party either. Shelley and I are going to get some food, and then everyone else is supposed to meet us for a movie: Sex and the City and then we were going to The Lift because Shelley really enjoys that place. That's it! I feel kind of bad. I would have loved to made it more elaborate but I'm running out of time, don't exactly have a bottomless bank account, and I don't know any of Shelley's friends. Jon and Greg are coming to The Lift also because that's what would make Shelley happy. I guess its more of a hangout thing with a bachelorette party label.
Tomorrow and Friday I have to get up early! Unheard of for the summer! I'm going to a math professional development. I hope its worthwhile. Its supposed to take place at a middle school from 8 to 4 on Thurs. and 8-12 on Friday. I hope the time goes by fast. I'm not sure if I'm getting paid or credit for it, but I'd take either.
Yesterday when I came back and opened my back door to get my things out of my car, I noticed WAY TOO MANY ants crawling all over the weather strip. Freaked me out! I seriously had a panic attack for the fear that ants are living in my car! I don't even understand. I keep my car fairly clean. Greg had to make it worse by saying there must be an ant nest somewhere in my car! OMG.
Okay, now I'm off to buy food coloring and checking how much money is left my bank account, so I can pay for tonight. Frosting will be done soon! YaY!
