Happy New Year!!!
I haven’t thought up of a great new year’s resolution as I had hoped, but I decided I am going to try to keep up my exercise resolution. I will do crunches and push-ups every night or when I wake up, everyday. I haven’t started that one yet. I was going to tonight but then my sister came over and now I’m super tired. But, as it is a new year I have to reflect on the old and look forward to the new. Here is a brief overview on what 2007 meant to me:
-I was President of DEA, Historian for APO and KDPi, and also part of the Search Committee.
-I won the Teacher Quality Project Program scholarship awarding me tuition, books, new laptop, parking permit and a living stipend for when I student teach (along with a lot of other things)!
-I was no longer able to work at the Drake Adult Literacy Center.
-Greg was diagnosed with Leukemia (ALL).
-I turned 21.
-Linda and I more than tolerate with each other, we’re back to being friends.
-I chopped off my long hair.
-I went to Denver for the first time!
-My parents met Greg.
-I discovered that I may not always know what I want, but I definitely know what I don’t want.
-My new favorite fruit is the Grapefruit.
-I met the cutest little boys: Luke, Nate, Jason and Austin.
-I’ve never been called “strange” so many times in my life.
-I discovered I’m not as strong as I thought I was in certain aspects of my life, yet I was stronger than I thought in other aspects of my life.
-I have the strong desire to leave, by myself, and discover my true potential.
-Painting is my new favorite hobby.
Now, as for the New Year, 2008, I have to have a bright outlook:
-I’ll be graduating from Drake on May 18.
-I’ll begin my first career as a teacher in Des Moines.
-I’ll live in an apartment and pay my own bills!
-I’ll have a bunch of loan debt that’ll need to be covered (not exactly bright, but reality).
-I want to learn how to cook beautifully and deliciously.
-I want to buy a sewing machine.
-I want to be a successful, young professional.

I got straight A's again. whoohoo.
I'm excited for the Iowa caucus. I decided that if I had gone back to Iowa for the caucus I would not vote for Obama or Hilary, but probably the underdog: Richardson because of his stance on certain aspects that I find personally important to me...as it should be. (This would make my roommate happy :))
