Last night as we were getting ready to go to bed Greg got a phone call, which he missed and later heard the message saying that someone was heading over to the house to drop off my luggage in an hour! I was ecstatic! Greg had to get to bed early because he had work in the morning, so I said I'd stay up on my own. So, at about midnight I got my luggage! Somehow my zipper broke, but nothing seems broken or missing so far. Greg wasn't so excited for his Transformers poster and shirt as I thought he would be. It's kind of sad. I wish he showed some emotion toward the gifts I give him.
As for today, since Greg had work I was in charge of taking Shelley and Jon around Denver. I personally don't know Denver all that well and I hate driving Greg's car...all of which I had to do! I stayed pretty calm I think and I only ran a red light once...but more on that story later.
We were on the search for Martin Luther King Jr street and Shelley noticed a sign for the Museum of Science and Nature (I might have that name switched, I don't know). We decided to go in there and spend some time. We didn't look at everything, but we looked at enough. Then we were on the search for lunch, and after lunch on the search for MLK Jr again. We ended up passing up most of downtown so I had Jon call Greg's mom and found out we definitely passed it up a long time ago. We finally find ourselves where we wanted to be, got into a tight parking spot and were about to pay for parking at the booth when it started POURING! So, we cancel our parking and run for the car, and as I hadn't even reached across the first intersection it started HAILING! The storm knocked out all the electricity so the street lights weren't working anymore, and as you know, in a case like that, you have to do a four way stop thing...well, sometimes I didn't realize there was a stop light and took the no light as a green light and went through. Not too much trouble, everyone lived. We also almost got hit head on by a Light Rail, which was definitely my fault, but with all the hail and rain I didn't see the marking on the street to help avoid the Light Rail. The Light Rail is a train that goes through downtown and the surrounding towns on a line that's placed on the streets.
We didn't get to actually walk around downtown, but we did pass by the Capitol building and we did pass by the 16th St. Mall. I must be destined to not shop on the the 16th St. Mall, b/c every time I try to go, something always comes up. We got home, safe and sound, and completely exhausted a little past 2 pm! I need to go pick up Greg from work in about 45 minutes now, and then we're going to dinner and a drive-in movie! I'm stoked!
Until later, play in the rain-not the hail, take a few risks, and always look out for others!
Greetings from Denver y'all! Ciao!
