We had a family picnic at the beach yesterday and it was a ton of fun. The weather was kind of cold for the water but my cousins and I went in anyway. After the water, we started playing in the sand. I made a sea turtle castle and one of the life guards stepped on one of its limbs! Anyway, while we were playing a lady came by and gave us her son's sand toys since we didn't have any. I thought that was rather nice of her. After that my cousin and my brother were obsessed with building a trench to fill the moat around our castles...they weren't too successful. The food was good, the company was nice, and my tan isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I felt like a kid again...it was ridiculously great!
I didn't realize how close I used to live to the beach when we used to live in Chicago. Seriously, we were down the street from it! I think I would love to live on the beach front.
As for the tree update...its still in front of our house b/c the people never showed up to take it away and now we have two other neighbors with tree parts on their lawn too! I guess we started a trend.
I'm hungry! Time for a family dinner out! ttyl.
P.S. I miss all the people at Drake :)

- Hey! I'm Sonal and I just graduated from Drake this May with a Bachelors of Science in Education. I am currently living in Des Moines for the summer because come August I will be a 6th grade teacher at Goodrell Middle School for math and geography. On my down I love to work on my crafts, watch movies, go shopping, write letters to friends and family and sleep. Naps are an essential part of my daily life and I usually can't function to my fullest potential without them. I work as a nanny for a few families in the Des Moines area and work at a country club for the summer. I'm basically living my life one day at a time in hopes for success and prosperity in whatever I do!
