It's October already!
The days are going by fast and furiously.
This week has been pleasant for the most part. The tingles in my face and head have returned, but I didn't tell anyone at school this time because last time they all told me I needed to see the doctor. I probably should but I know exactly what he/she would say: take ibuprofen. HAHA. That remedy seems to be the cure-all to whatever the case may be.
I was kind of down in the dumps about school. I feel like my students are slipping a bit, but at the same time coming up. It's a huge state of confusion for me. With all this though, I had a few aspects of this week that really brightened my day. One of my students made me a pillow in his Home and Consumer Sciences class, another student who hated math said she liked math now, and I had a sub for one of my co-teachers who said she loved to be in my classes because it was fun! I had another student come in to take a quiz during lunch and he finished really early and he didn't want to go back to the lunch room-he wanted to eat lunch with me and he started talking about a book he read about viruses and how he thought it was so cool-blabbering all this stuff he learned and connected to how he was facing some of that stuff at home. I know you're thinking, "so what?" This is the student that NEVER talks in class unless forced to and even then you can't hear a word he says and all of a sudden its just the two of us and I could barely get him to stop. Amazing! :)
Yesterday, even though I was supposed to do school work at home, I went to the Funny Bone with Cammeo, Karen and Cam's family. We saw the Untamed Shrews. They were pretty hilarious. Susan was a lot funnier than Marge, and their singing skit at the end was funny. They both can sing really well, so it worked well. Their dress was really interesting. Susan wore a 2-piece suit dress and Marge wore a man's striped-button-up, skirt and boots with wild hair that was crazy bleached ad teased like no other. Just interesting...that's all I'm saying.
Tomorrow grades are due. My grant proposal is due. I'm trying to get the school a Wii system with the Wii Fit for an after school activity. It's a lot of work to write up a grant proposal. I'm a first year teacher and I did it with little help... I'm not even sure if its write. I should find out soon if I get it...but I guess the first step is to turn it in tomorrow.
Time to update grades then hopefully bed early. This never happens, but maybe tonight.
Also, I'm going to be evaluated next week! AHHHHH!
