Always Expect the Unexpected

"Always expect the unexpected" is a saying that I've heard all my life but hadn't really had to reach the reality of it until now. I think its adulthood. I've always lived my life on a schedule, allotting myself a certain amount of time for certain activities-everything always followed my schedule. Now, every time I make a schedule something happens and my entire schedule is thrown out the window leading to getting nothing done that was originally planned. I always questioned my parents on why they complained about not being able to get things done because something came up and I would say, "just make a schedule and stick with it." Well, now I see exactly what they're talking about.

Home was fabulous. I went to Chicago with my parents and brother on Saturday. We walked along the lake shore, took a boat ride across the lake to Navy Pier, and then ended the night bowling where my sister joined us. It really was fantastic. EVERYONE got along and my mom actually joined the fun with us. Since my parents split up way back when she usually opts out of going out with us. I had such a great time I really didn't want to come back to Des Moines. I think the next time I get to go home it'll be Thanksgiving and I believe my dad is planning on going out of town during that time so there's a chance I won't see him until winter break. Hopefully, he'll come visit me before that.

I took pictures so here is my lovely family that I miss very much.

Chicago skyline with the Shedd Aquarium along the lake. We walked along the sidewalk beside the lake.
We also saw three Quincinera(?) and four weddings while we were there!

The Gigantic Ferris Wheel, along with the Carousel and swing thing...

My parents!

My brother! My favorite person :)

Our fish:
Me: "Ooooo, what kind of fish is that? It's got a bent back."
My sister: "It's not that its a special kind of fish. It's a handicapped fish. Of all the fish in the tank Alex wanted that one-so I got him that one."
My brother: "It didn't have any friends and it was swimming by itself. I wanted to save him."
My sister: "Told ya."

Yes, this fish has a crooked spine. It's kind of interesting. I'm not sure what happened but perhaps there should be a movie about him like Nemo. haha.
