Mosquitos are vicious here! I got one mosquito bite on my leg that spread all around my leg, making it swell and red by the end of the next day. Greg said if I didn't feel well he'd come back from work and take me to the hospital. But as my bit got better, his bite became worse. With his leukemia, anything and everything warrants a visit to the doctor. Greg's mosquito bite was beet red, warm to the touch, and forming a head, which meant it was infected. Yes, this sounds terrible, but there is good news in the end! His doctor said that since he is in his maintenance phase now, his immune system is almost back to normal! That is AMAZING news! He said the head is forming because he actually has enough white blood cells to do their job and attack the infection! YaY! Now for the bad news, his super expensive meds he had to take for the bite are giving him an allergic reaction and now he has rashes on his arms and legs. BOOO. No winning!
Now that it is July 2, it is a smoke free Iowa now! I've heard many people that did complain about that ban, but they said this is a great way to make them quit!
Whoa! I'm watching the news and apparently the Des Moines water is ranked 1st in the nation! I guess it might be clean, but personally I don't think it tastes very good...I'm one of those bottled water people. Make it taste like Chicago water and I will gladly refill my reusable water bottles from the tap.
Fourth of July weekend is this weekend and I have to work! I have to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Thursday I am being trained to work in Terrace Hall, but the rest of the days I just do the carts. I'm thinking the other girls ask for the days off so I'm the only left doing the cart for the weekend. Although, to make up for missing the fourth grill out, my landlord is having a grill-out picnic by our pool on the 5th, and hopefully I should be back from work by then! Jon, Greg and I were at the pool a couple days ago and I have to say that made me actually want to swim. Usually, I'm the party pooper that doesn't go swimming-basically I'm afraid of water, but this summer might change the phobia.
Now, for online window shopping!
